"Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson told prospective conservatives political donors in a recent email that he has a "radical idea" in response to the controversy surrounding North Carolina's recently passed transgender bathroom law.

While some notable celebrities and corporations have pushed back hard against North Carolina's transgender bathroom law that prohibits local governments from forcing businesses to allow customers who are men according to their birth sex to go into women's restrooms, the Duck call businessman and A&E TV star is siding with the state.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Robertson has teamed up with conservative political nonprofit Citizens United to defend the law.

In an email distributed by the organization, the Duck Commander says: "I've got a radical idea. Men should use the men's bathroom and women should use the women's bathroom.

"Just because a man may 'feel' like a woman doesn't mean he should be able to share a bathroom with my daughter, or yours. That used to be called common sense. Now it's called bigoted."

While many Americans might not consider Robertson's opinion all that radical, many "illiberal liberals" consider North Carolina's law protecting the rights of businesses to set their own bathroom and privacy rules for their facilities to be radical, bigoted and even gender and sex discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Last week, the Department of Justice sent an ultimatum to North Carolina officials threatening legal action if the state did not respond by Monday indicating that it will not enforce its new law.

On Monday, the state filed a lawsuit against the federal government, asking a federal court to rule whether the Obama administration's interpretation of the law is flawed. Additionally, the Department of Justice filed a countersuit against the state on Monday.

The department's ultimatum is just another example of how the administration is trying to twist the arm of conservatives and religious objectors into accepting the items on the progressive agenda.

"The Judeo-Christian values that led America to greatness are under full assault by the mob mentality of political correctness, and we're slowly losing our soul," Robertson adds in the email, which includes a link to an online initiative called "Speak Freely" that urges conservatives to join Robertson and Citizens United to "stand tall for religious freedom" in the face of government coercion.

"America's Founders fought a revolution and created a Constitution to defend and promote religious freedom," states. "But the Godly values that propelled America to greatness are under attack by the mob mentality of political correctness — and we're slowly losing our soul."

"As Americans, we ought to be able to speak freely about our faith in God and live by our values without fear of coercion," the website added.
