Hillsong's Young & Free Debut at No. 1 on Billboard Christian Charts as They Continue 1st U.S. Tour

Hillsong's Young & Free launched their first album on Sept. 30, We Are Young & Free, and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian albums chart and the Praise and Worship albums chart. It also debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and No. 6 on the Overall Digital Albums chart.

The newest Hillsong's group made a trip to New York's famed Radio City Music Hall where they unveiled new music, played their single "Alive," and helped sell out Hillsong's first ever U.S. conference. The band will continue to play through November opening for bigger worship group Hillsong UNITED in the U.S. They will also continue the U.S. conference in Los Angeles Oct. 18 & 19.

"Young & Free exists to give voice to this generation and to give our youth an identity. God is calling a generation who will rise up, and who will know deep and unending joy in Jesus Christ," said Laura Toggs, Hillsong's youth pastor.

"[The new team] created for teenagers, the whole church comes alive," said Hillsong senior pastor Brian Houston. "I feel very strongly that we are called to release generations, to be more loyal to the future than we are to the past."

A few weeks ago Hillsong UNITED released the Oceans EP due to the success of the song "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" from the ZION album.

The EP has five versions of the song: the original, a radio version, a live version recorded in Denver during a UNITED's show, a remix version and an acoustic video with commentary on the song.

UNITED will be releasing an acoustic album on October 29 titled ZION Acoustic exclusively on iTunes. It will feature 12 ZION songs recorded live in Sydney, Australia.
