Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt Net Worth 2016: Who Will be Richer After the Divorce? Brangelina's Career Earnings and Conjugal Properties

Hollywood A-list couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shocked the Western world last month when news broke that they called it quits after 12 years together and two years of marriage. How much is Brangelina's fortune worth? Who will get the bigger money after the ugly breakup?

Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt's 2016 Net Worth

TMZ first dropped the news on Sept. 20 that Jolie has filed for divorce from Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences as a primary reason. The 41-year-old actress and humanitarian activist did not request for spousal support from Pitt. However, she wanted to acquire the full physical custody of their three adopted and three biological children.

The Brangelina dissolution posed serious questions about how the once super-couple will split their fortune. Per Forbes, the couple has cumulative earnings worth $117.5 million since their marriage in 2014.

On the other hand, Heavy has a bigger estimate for Jolie and Pitt's combined net worth. The website projected the couple's 2016 wealth at $400 million since they tied the knot two years ago.

Celebrity Net Worth listed Pitt's net earnings this year at $240 million. Majority of the 53-year-old actor's income came from his salary as one of the world's bankable Hollywood superstars. On the other hand, Jolie's 2016 net worth is pegged at $160 million.

How Brangelina will Split Their Property Empire

According to TMZ, Jolie and Pitt will not battle over their financial assets. The divorcing Hollywood A-listers signed a prenuptial agreement in 2014, detailing exactly who gets what of their estimated $400-million combined fortune.

The media outlet reported that the estranged couple acquired a total of 12 properties within their 12-year relationship. Their prenuptial agreement clearly stated that seven of the properties belong to Pitt while Jolie has two. After the wedding, they purchased three properties together that include a New York apartment, a New Orleans mansion and a vineyard in France.

Who is Richer After the Divorce?

Because of the prenuptial agreement, the bulk of Brangelina's wealth will go back to Pitt after the divorce proceedings. Per The Telegraph, the California community property laws state that assets earned prior to the wedding stay with the person who acquired them.

NY Daily News reported that the real issue of the couple's divorce is the custody of their children and not their financial assets. Pitt reportedly wanted a joint physical custody of their children Knox and Vivienne, 8, Shiloh, 10, Zahara, 11, Pax, 12, and Maddox, 15.

The famous Hollywood couple first met on the set of their 2004 movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." They started dating in 2005 after Pitt's divorce with Jennifer Aniston, his first wife.
