Those who severely enjoyed the Marvel Comics superhero film "Deadpool" have a reason to celebrate as a sequel is coming. According to a report by Heroic Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds has signed to agree on reprising his role as the Merc with a Mouth for 20th Century Fox's "Deadpool 2." With its tremendous success at the box office, it's really no surprise that the film studio wants to birth another one.
Since its release, the first movie garnered a whopping total of $754,530,050 worldwide at the box office which is an exceeding profit from its $58 million investment. It also beat "The Matrix Reloaded" off its record, making it the highest-grossing R-rate movie in box office history. Not a lot is known yet with the second installment of the film but Movie Pilot said that Fox may be aiming for a 2018 release. It is also speculated to take the Jan. 12, 2018 release date although there is an unconfirmed "X-Men" film on the way that day.
It is also said that "Deadpool" producers and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be making a comeback to the part two to write the script. Meanwhile, it is not confirmed yet but director Time Miller is on the talks to helm the film once again. As for the cast, no one is listed yet apart from Reynolds but fans are hoping for the return of Vanessa or Copycat (Morena Baccarin) and Jack or Weasel (T.J. Miller).
It has been confirmed already though through the post-credits sequence of the first film that long-time partner of and sometime antagonist Cable or Nathan Summers will be joining "Deadpool 2." There is no actor for the character yet but Stephen Lang is a potential. Cinema Blend also noted that Domino, who is also described to be a former mercenary turned member of the X-Men, may make an appearance as well.
Things with "Deadpool 2" are moving forward already so fans can expect to catch more news and updates soon about the sequel.
