Huawei Honor 5C Officially Launched in China, Specs Include 5.2-Inch Display, Fingerprint Scanner, 3,000mAh Battery

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has finally launched a device under their sub-brand Honor in the home country. According to a report by Android Authority, the company launched the mid-range device dubbed as the Honor 5C in China. It's priced at $140 or CNY 899 for the 3G version and $155 or CNY 999 for the 4G version.

As for its specs and features, Phone Arena detailed that the Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen. It has a screen resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels and comes with a PPI of 423 pixels per inch. Under the hood, one will be able to find Huawei HiSilicon's Kirin 650 chipset which is clocked at 1.7 GHz and 2 GHz per cluster of four. It is also equipped with eight low-power Cortex-A53 cores and an ARM Mali-T830 GPU. It will also be incorporated with 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM paired with 16 GB of native storage. It can be expanded further via a micro-SD card slot.

As for its imaging feature, Tech First Post noted that the Honor 5C is said to flaunt a 13-megapixel camera at the back with dual LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. On the front will be an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 77 degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture lens. The handset will also be coming with a fingerprint scanner located that the back. Moreover, the handset is said to be pre-installed with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, topped off with Huawei's EMUI 4.1 interface. Giving it power and life will be a 3,000mAh removable battery.

The connectivity options available include 4G LTE radio with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB 2.0 port and Wi-Fi. The Honor 5C measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3mm and weighs 156 grams. Sensors on the phone include Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.

There is no information yet on whether the device will be making its way out of China but fans outside the country should stay tuned for updates.
