First-person survival horror game "Outlast" is going to bring in more scare to fans with its second installment. According to a report by Tech Times, developer Red Barrels Studio is set to release "Outlast 2" soon. But before they could let in fans to the spooky fun, the independent video game treated them to sneak peek of what they can expect in the game. The gameplay trailer of "Outlast 2" is now available and it's possibly scarier than the first game.

PlayStation Lifestyle reported that in the gameplay video released, it showed the new setting as promised by Red Barrels. The freaky adventure will no longer take place in an old asylum but it in a haunted village or farm that seems to be deserted. The protagonist is then seen trying to run and hide away from an unidentified enemy. It showed that staying under a tub of water can be a hiding place but probably not for long. It's also noted that the game will involve a camcorder which seems to serve as a nightlight while the protagonist is making his way through a cornfield.

Polygon detailed that "Outlast 2" follows the plot story of cameraman Blake Langerman and wife Lynn who went aboard a helicopter to investigate the murder of a pregnant woman. But disaster struck them when their flying vehicle crashed in the Arizona desert. And now Blake is alone with his wife nowhere to be found.

The game is pretty much like its predecessor wherein the aim is to survive while being terrified. It's about staying alive and finding Lynn whose life may be in danger as the farm is definitely not abandoned. Something or someone is out there and that's a mystery that gamers must uncover as they play along.

"Outlast 2" will be out sometime this fall this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
